Activities

Craft Project 1

We know children need to be engaged throughout the day, it helps them to improve their problem-solving skills, encourages them to learn from one another, and also teaches them to ask an adult for help when required.

We offer a range of entertaining and educational activities:

  • Aerobics, dance using our Interactive Classroom board (‘Sticky Kids’), role-play, sand and water play, listening to and joining in with music from around the world and also using our musical instruments. Regular baking sessions, we also have an indoor Soft Playroom and Sensory room.
  • Community Visits – we arrange visits from the local Police and fire brigade to educate children on public services. Also one of our Parents is a Nurse and kindly came into Nursery to talk to the Children about her role in the Community.
  • Gardening – In addition to our outside play areas, we are fortunate to have a lovely Mud Kitchen and allotment area, where the children enjoy planting flowers and harvesting fruit and vegetables.

Outdoor Play

We always encourage our children to play outside, playing outside develops their gross motor skills and keeps them healthy and connected to nature. Children also build their friendship groups and burn a lot of energy in the process.

Special Events

Craft Project 1

Our Children develop their understanding of the World by taking part in special events throughout the year. (E.g.Chinese New Year, Diwali, Christmas)

 

We have regular visits from outside agencies e.g. A travelling mini-farm and Minibeast organisation. We always strive to think of ways in which we can capture and develop our children’s minds and interests further.

Also on occasion, with parental consent, we take children on visits to the local park at Towneley.

 

The exciting acquisition of our new Minibus also means we will now have the opportunity to develop and extend children’s interests and cultural capital further by taking them on trips out into the wider community.
